Color Of Change PAC Endorses Tiffany Cabán for Queens District Attorney
QUEENS, NY (June 7, 2019) — Color Of Change PAC, the political action committee of the nation’s largest online racial justice group, today announced the endorsement of Public Defender Tiffany Cabán for Queens District Attorney. Color Of Change PAC endorses candidates who seek to make real lasting change for Black communities.
“Today, Color Of Change PAC is pleased to endorse Cabán, a career public defender with a bold vision for reform in Queens,” said Color Of Change PAC spokesperson Rashad Robinson. “She is in the community and of the community and will fight for radical, necessary change. This is the first District Attorney race in Queens in over 25 years and the victor can potentially hold the seat for an entire generation. We cannot afford to get this wrong. That’s why Color Of Change PAC stands with Tiffany Cabán, a candidate who has consistently advocated for those most vulnerable to the inequities of the criminal justice system.”
As Queens District Attorney, Cabán will:
- End money bail
- Prosecute less
- Seek shorter sentences for felonies
- Decriminalize the recreational use of Marijuana and other drugs
- Treat substance use disorders as medical issues
- Create a community advisory board
- Demilitarize law enforcement and rebuilding community trust
Color Of Change PAC was established to support candidates (and policies) at local and national levels in order to transform the criminal justice system in favor of justice for all people, particularly Black people.
