Color Of Change PAC: We Will Hold Ron Johnson Accountable to Black Voters
WISCONSIN — In response to today’s election results, Color Of Change PAC — the political action committee of the nation’s largest online racial justice organization — released the following statement from Color Of Change PAC Spokesperson Rashad Robinson:
“Throughout his years as a community organizer and in public service, including as Wisconsin’s first Black Lt. Governor, Mandela Barnes has been a tireless advocate for Black communities across the state. He ran a strong campaign that prioritized the issues that matter most to Black voters, including redefining public safety, addressing Black maternal health and fighting inflation.
We commend the dedication and the steadfast efforts of countless organizers, activists, and community members to defend our democracy and build and sustain Black political power. These are long-term investments that will pay dividends for years to come.
Regardless of who is in office, Color Of Change PAC and our members will keep organizing to reform the justice system, protect reproductive rights, eliminate student loan debt and address the housing crisis in Wisconsin and across the country.”
Over the last few months, Color Of Change PAC mobilized thousands of members and Black voters in Wisconsin to turn out the vote and elect progressive candidates, like Mandela Barnes, with comprehensive and progressive policies and reforms in their platform that support Black communities.
Here are a few of the statistics about Color Of Change PAC’s voter engagement work in Wisconsin:
- 84,860 direct mail pieces sent to Black voters and members
- 1,230 phone calls with voters
- 527,810 digital ad views
- 2,472,281 email sent
- In partnership with Priorities USA, total digital engagement of over 2.5 million voters across WI and MI
Since 2016, Color Of Change PAC has mobilized hundreds of thousands of Black voters across the country, endorsing candidates who offer plans to help move Black people forward. One of the first-ever political organizing groups to figure out how to reach and engage Black voters and its members online, Color Of Change PAC ramped up its digital and direct mail tactics ahead of the 2022 election cycle.
