Color Of Change PAC Responds to Florida Midterm Election Results

FLORIDA Color Of Change PAC — the political action committee of the nation’s largest online racial justice organization — released the following statement from Color of Change PAC Spokesperson Rashad Robinson:

“Make no mistake: Florida’s voter suppression legislation likely impacted last night’s results. Yet in the face of new voting restrictions, progressive voters in Florida still turned out to cast their votes and re-elect champions like Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick and Frederica Wilson to the House. Across all races, win or lose, we commend the steadfast efforts of countless organizers, activists, and community members to defend our democracy and build and sustain Black political power. These are long-term investments that will pay dividends for years to come.”

“Regardless of who is in office, Color Of Change PAC and our members will keep organizing to redefine public safety, protect reproductive rights, eliminate student loan debt and address the housing crisis in Florida and across the country.”

In Florida, Color Of Change PAC endorsed the following candidates: Allison Miller for State Attorney; Aramis Ayala for Attorney General; Alfred Lawson for CD-5; Sheila Cherflius McCormick for CD-20; Frederica Wilson for CD-24 and Charlie Crist for Governor.

Since 2016, Color Of Change PAC has mobilized hundreds of thousands of Black voters across the country, endorsing candidates who offer plans to help move Black people forward. One of the first-ever political organizing groups to figure out how to reach and engage Black voters and its members online, Color Of Change PAC ramped up its digital and direct mail tactics ahead of the 2022 election cycle.
