Jamarr Brown, Color Of Change PAC Executive Director

Jamarr Brown is a seasoned political strategist, campaign expert, and advocate for justice-driven policy change. He currently serves as the Executive Director of Color Of Change PAC, where he leads programmatic and operational strategies to support candidates committed to transformative change—particularly within the criminal justice system. Under his leadership, Color Of Change PAC has been at the forefront of holding elected officials accountable, with a strong focus on prosecutors and their role in advancing racial justice.

Jamarr’s passion for advocacy began at the age of 15 when his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Witnessing the financial strain of medical bills on his family, he took action by reaching out to his governor, advocating for his mother’s healthcare access—an experience that ignited his lifelong commitment to fighting for equity. He later became deeply involved in civic engagement during college, where he led his NAACP chapter, served as Student Senate President, and interned for the Congressional Black Caucus and the Democratic National Committee.

His career has spanned national and state politics, grassroots organizing, and leadership development. Prior to his role at Color Of Change PAC, Jamarr made history as the first Black Executive Director of the Texas Democratic Party, where he oversaw political strategy, fundraising, voter outreach, and electoral operations across the state. Under his leadership, the party expanded voter protection efforts, flipped key legislative and county-level seats, and sent two candidates of color to Congress, U.S. Rep. Greg Casar and U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett.

Before that, Jamarr served as Director of Civic Engagement Programs at re:power, where he trained candidates, campaign staff, and community organizers across the country. He also held roles as National Training Director for Tom Steyer’s presidential campaign and Organizing & Training Director for Planned Parenthood Texas Votes, where he led large-scale advocacy efforts for reproductive justice. Earlier in his career, he worked on state and congressional campaigns and helped recruit and support progressive candidates nationwide.

Jamarr’s expertise in movement-building and political strategy has earned him recognition in national and state media, including CNN International, The Grio, Axios, Associated Press, Reuters, Capital Tonight, and Areva Martin in Real Time.

A Charleston, South Carolina native, Jamarr earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Clemson University. He currently serves as Board Chair of Provide, Inc., an organization dedicated to increasing healthcare access, and has previously held leadership roles with Leadership Austin and the Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce.
