For Chatham County District AttorneyShalena Cook Jones (D) is the second woman and the first Black woman to serve as Chatham County’s District Attorney.
As District Attorney, Shalena Cook Jones will continue to advocate for bail reform, community-based policing, and restructuring of child support enforcement. She has also pledged to:
- Eliminate the cash bail system and roll back fines and penalties in juvenile court cases
- Create charging and sentencing review panels to ensure fair and consistent outcomes.
- Expand mental illness and drug addiction accountability courts.
- Protect and preserve the rights of victim witnesses through education and support services.
On November 5, 2024, re-elect Shalena Cook Jones for Chatham County District Attorney. You must be a registered voter to participate in this election. Register to vote today or check your registration status on the Secretary of State website.
Vote early to avoid lines and wait times at the polls. Registered voters can cast their ballot safely and securely by voting by mail as soon as possible.
