Holly J. Mitchell (D) is a state senator with a long history of advocating for policies that center equity and justice. As a lawmaker, she has sponsored bills to successfully reduce recidivism and incarceration costs, and restore funding for child care and education programs. Most recently, Mitchell authored the C.R.O.W.N. Act, making California the first state to legally ban natural hair discrimination.
As Los Angeles County Supervisor, Mitchell will continue to implement progressive reforms. She has pledge to:
- Support solutions to prevent and help end homelessness with outreach, rapid housing, bridge housing, seamless resident on-boarding to services, and permanent housing.
- Advocate for affordable, quality, and preventative healthcare solutions
- Support and will work to strengthen the county’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and expand access to renewable energy.
- Work to create and expand access to job opportunities.
On November 3, 2020, vote Holly Mitchell for Los Angeles County Supervisor. You must be a registered voter to participate in this election. Register to vote today or check your registration status with the county clerk’s office.
Vote early in person to avoid lines and wait times at the polls. You can also cast your ballot safely and securely by voting by mail as soon as possible. Because of the pandemic, California is automatically mailing ballots to all active voters. Election day polling locations will open on November 3 from 7 AM to 8 PM. Meet with local black business owners (barber shops, beauty salons, insurance agencies, etc.) and share how they can help register voters and how they can help collect Black Voter info to make these races even more competitive.
