For Los Angeles County District AttorneyWe endorse Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón because he has the experience and proven leadership to reshape our justice system. He is the former San Francisco District Attorney and Assistant Chief of the LAPD. As San Francisco DA, his criminal justice reform efforts served as a positive model of leadership.
Throughout his career, Gascón has been on the forefront of innovative criminal justice reform. He has successfully:
- Advocated for one of the nation’s toughest standards on use of force to reduce police killings
- Instituted a tool for eliminating racial bias in prosecutors’ charging decisions
- Co-wrote historic legislation to reduce punishments for small drug possessions
- Expunged over 9,000 marijuana convictions
- Launched California’s first public portal on prosecution data

Vote early in person to avoid lines and wait times at the polls. You can also cast your ballot safely and securely by voting by mail as soon as possible. New Vote Centers
LA County voters have 11 days to vote in-person at any Vote Center in the CountyVote Centers open February 22, so you can vote early from anywhere in the county. On Election Day, centers will be open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM across Los Angeles County.
If you are a first-time voter or a new citizen who did not indicate your driver’s license on your voter registration, you must present one of the following at a Vote Center:
- Photo ID,
- Utility bill, or
- Government-issued document with name and residence address
